hi all

i have a kenwood dnx7200 double din with sat nav and would like to add the kenwood gtm tmc for gimick purpose really!

i suppose my biggest question really is: is it any good. i've read lots about signal probs and was hopeing that as this one uses the cars aerial it would be ok. i live in the midlands in kidderminster. does anyone know what the reception is like in this area and what kind of coverage around this area i am likely to get?

is the tmc data restricted really to mayjor a roads and motorways?

Any traffic unit connecting to the external car aerial will be better than just a small piece of wire, but that doesn't magically make up for the low signal of the broadcasts - you will still not manage 100% UK coverage.

Yes, the TMC data is restricted to A roads and motorways.

Sorry, I don't travel to that area enough to be able to personally comment on the quality of signal around there - however, I think there are a number of TMC-carrying-radio masts in the area, so I would not expect it to be a complete blackspot in terms of reception, but this is no guarantee.
