 In partnership with the Subaru World Rally Team (SWRT), PocketGPSWorld.Com is pleased to announce the availability of a Rally Sweden POI Set available in TomTom, Garmin formats and .CSV formats suitable for most SatNav devices. The POI File contains the locations of all the special stages as well as the Service Park and Super Stage locations.
The POI file downloads can be found by visiting our Subaru WRT Download Page linked below. To keep up to date on all the Subaru World Rally Team news visit them at www.swrt.com. The official Swedish Rally web-site can be visited here.
In addition, for TomTom V7 users we have a Subaru WRT Team Car TomTom Cursor which is also available on the cursor download page here.

 The Subaru World Rally Team (SWRT) have today launched their WRC 2008 Impreza World Rally Car and PocketGPSWorld.com in partnership with the SWRT have an exclusive.
Our ever growing custom cursor library already had the official SWRT 2007 Car Custom Cursor and now it also has the 2008 Team Car Cursor. This is now available to download from the custom cursor library or direct from our Subaru World Rally Team POI page where you can also grab POI packs for all the official WRT events.

 It's our turn this month with the World Rally Championship taking place in Wales starting tomorrow. Our now one year old partnership with the Subaru World Rally Team (SWRT) continues and we are pleased to announce the availability of the Wales Rally GB POI Set. The POIs are available in TomTom, Garmin and .CSV formats suitable for most SatNav devices. The POI File contains the locations the stage public car parks, ceremonial start finish and Millennium Stadium stage.

It appears that the Rally GB POIs will be the last.
There is a press release on the Subaru site saying they wont be competing next year. Not sure when it was announced but the BBC Sport article about it is timed at 11:23. |

That's very sad to hear. I had wondered with the announcement that Honda were pulling out of F1 how many other teams would be canned. Very sad.

Apparently Suzuki pulled out of the senior WRC yesterday but are still supporting the junior version, presumably because that costs less.
I don't think we've seeen the last pullout in rallying or F1.
Maybe I'm being cynical but I expect several F1 teams to say they are considering it in the hope that their threatening to leave will derail the latest proposal from Bernie Ecclestone. ( Medals not points and most gold medals wins the championship. ) |

Sadly not, however I might try and contact some of the teams still participating and see if they want to take up the reins? I need access to the Road Books to author the POIs. Got a box full of them here now!
