|
|
Hi all,
Yesterday my eldest son bought the above model brand new from a local Argos. It came with an old firmware which I've updated to the latest this morning. It's now running navcore 7. Sadly it came with and still has the map of UK and Ireland ver 6.75.1409. Is he entitled to the latest 7.10 map?
When using the 'Use latest map guarentee' from tomtom home 2 I'm told he has the latest map already installed. I know this is rubbish. I'm of a mind to contact tomtom support but before I do I'd appreciate knowing your thoughts on whether he's entitled to the latest map release-ver 7.10?
TIA,
Pete |

There are lots of other posts about this with other models.
If you received a "latest map guarantee" card with the unit, there is no question, you should be entitled to v7.10 maps. Suggest you both ring AND email TT, explaining the situation. |

He didn't get an upgrade card and that's what made me query if such an offer was exclusive to the newly released 520 and 720. I still try and push my luck with them though, it has to be worth a try. Thanks Andy. |

Ahh, you had me confused when you said "using the 'Use latest map guarantee'..."
I HAD thought that I'd read only the x20 range and the ONE 3rd edition came with it.
Obviously if you haven't got that guarantee card, you can't demand new maps; but as TomTom seem to be in such confusion over who should or shouldn't get them, there's no harm in trying, I suppose. |
