Ok hoping for some help here, not used my tom tom 710 for a while, switched it on today and a screen came up with a picture of the memory card and a red cross on it. I removed the memory card and then put it back in thinking the card was not installed properly, but this did not haelp. Then went to the tom tom website and according to that the application is not installaed properly so i had to run tom tom home. I put the memory card into my laptop and ran tom tom home which prompted me to download the latest application and install it, did this then put the memory card back into the tom tom but still i get the same screen, can anyone help??
Its a UK model not sure if that makes any difference? |

Have you tried resetting the device by pushing the reset button with a pin? the switch is under the device next to the multiway connector that powers the device - Mike |

Keep that copy on your laptop as a possible backup (it might not be complete or it might be corrupted as you only made it AFTER you had a problem).
Do you have any earlier backups you made when it was working? Pity if you haven't - it's one of the most important things people need to do as soon as they buy a satnav.
It might be worth trying connecting the TomTom itself via Home and doing the software install again (rather than using a card reader).
If that doesn't work, do you have another SD card you could try? It needs to be a "high speed" card, 2GB or smaller. Copy everything from the laptop copy to it and then connect to Home as above for a software re-install. |

Matthew, did you mean to post here. From your other topic you say you've got a One, possibly 2nd edition. Less confusing if we leave this topic for raz-360's 710 problem and carry on with yours HERE? |
