hi,
ive been offered a tomtom one unit, it powers up fine, plays the music but fails to recognize the card, its a original set up with authentic software ( tomtom ) is it a matter of trying to reinstal the software, or a hard reset or is this a problem tomtom ones suffer from and a costly fix.
any advice is welcome, the units 14mnths old.
thanks

Sounds as if the card is faulty. I think you may have all sorts of problems getting tomtom to come up with a fix, which will probably mean a new SD card, and for this you will probably need receipts and the security card which came with the unit when first purchased.
My advice would be to leave it alone, unless you are prepared to put up with a fair bit of grief, and its exceptionally cheap!
The only soultion MIGHT be if the person 'offering' the unit has taken a 'backup' that can be restored. _________________ Regards
Thanks for advice, so not worth 35 quid hes asking the, even thoug boxed with car charger, sd card, and windscreen mount ?
Well it depends, but I suspect that is the reason its so cheap!
Ask if there's a back-up that can be restored to different card, and I suppose you could try a factory reset, without the card in. Then when asked for SD card put in the original and try it. Trouble is, I suspect that if you get it working (before you buy it), the price will go up.
Wait and see if you get any more advice before you go in either direction, there's bound to be some more help on its way tomorrow.......... _________________ Regards
