Here's the big question...
Are they worth the £40 to update or not?
And a slightly smaller question....
Who's done the mapping data this time? Teleatlas or Navteq?
Ta!

This would depend on your device, app. version, current map, etc..
TeleAtlas. _________________ Tim |

Well it's a bit of a ba$7ard actually, I've had my TTG720 for 44 days and I've just tried to use the "Latest Map Guarantee" and found it's expired!
According to my 720 I have on board:
App: 7.020: OS: 2622
GPS: v1.21, Boot: 5.4104
Map: 'Western_Europe' v705.1480
So is it worth the upgrade or not, are there any major differences that should appear or be made aware of on the new maps?
I must admit that with the major roadworks on the A3 approaching Hindhead, I can't wait to see what it makes of the new "temporary" section of road at the Thursley end, it will think I'm driving in a field! |

I just keep getting "There is a problem with the TomTom Home 2 server, please try again later". I'm sure I've had mine too long to get the free update, but it would be nice to know for sure. |

Make sure you install in with Home otherwise it wont install properly. I used Home 2 and it went fine. |

You can download it from the website which i did mistakenly and i installed it myself, but it obviously isnt activated doing it like that, as it didn't show up at all. I then went to Home 2.1 and there was the map ready for download again. Fortunately i've got a 16meg connection to the net so it didnt take long to download again.
I also had to pay via the website as debit cards dont seem to be accepted from within Home itself, but on the website they are. |

It does state on the website that you need to install through HOME.
I've deleted the westen europe map, and trying to re-add the map via home.
The maps sitting on my hard drive.
Fingers crossed
Nope same problem, so i've restored to the previous setup |

Scainer, when you install the new map, do you see a file with a .dct extension in the directory? _________________ Tim |

I've just taken the plunge and ordered the 7.10 Western Europe map via Home2. Home2 complained about an error after I put in my card details, but I got an email from TomTom saying my payment has been accepted. However, the order (via TomTom.com / My orders) is still showing as "INPROCESS" for 1 hour so far.
I hope it works!! |

I haven't got my device with me but does anyone know wether the Western Europe Map 7.10 is the one that came pre-installed on the Tom Tom One (3rd Edition)?

@ Tim Buxton
There are 13 of the .dct files, all with a 1kb file size
The downloaded zip doesn't have any.
There is an activation_map_50090.zip that has a .dct file |
