Hi all, is there a way to modify the opening screen on a S50, to display an image of my own choice? Does anyone have breakdown of the directory structure where the images are so that I may try and do a swap with another image?
Thanks in advoance guys. |

Hi
You can change the opening screen by updating the graphic called splash.png and maploading.png the 2nd one is the screen when it says Map laoding
They are located on the navman under [drive letter]Program Files\Navman\SmartST_CE\UI , Where [drive letter] is the letter that gets assigned to the Navman once connected to your computer.
I have not tired it myself but these seams to be the graphic.
Have fun |

I have done this myself, as well. Changed the loading screens to my own custom ones.
I could change Maploading.png to a custom one no problem.
BTW, I change it to a picture of my daughter, and added text along the lines of "This S30 SAT NAV belongs to me and if found or stolen contact xxxxxxx " - I think it's a good idea.
What is a problem is the splash.png.
Changing that file to a custom picture - only half works.
By that I mean, when turning on the S30, it still shows the default picture, then changes to my custom picture for a brief second, and continues loading. I can't seem to get rid of the default picture.
I'm not even sure where it is getting the default picture from even after I have changed the splash.png file and one called splash_16bpp.png . A search of the whole drive shows no other picture related to this default pic.
Anyone have any idea where else the default picture might be residing? |
