I've planned a route on my TT 720 from Birdsgreen, (on the A442 not the A422 as stated by the Mail Rolling Eyes ) south east of Hampton Loade, to Chelmarsh, across the river and to the north west of Hampton Loade, and both fastest and shortest routes keep me on the A442 up to Bridgnorth, then down to Chelmarsh on the B4555.

Does anyone have a device that does use the route the Daily Mail claim?

maps.google.com directions from "Birds green, Hampton Loade, Shropshire" to "chelmarsh" take you up to bridgenorth and back down again so doesn't try go through hampton loade...

they probably had it set on pedestrian mode ;)

The iGO 2006 plus does the same route as yours but in Pedestrian mode it routes via the ferry. Very Happy

I've added my comments...
Quote:
1 - Who said it was a TomTom problem? I cannot see any reference to a particular brand in the article.

2 - The article itself is wrong. The road is the A442 NOT the A422. Let he who casts the first stone... :-)

3 - For info, my TomTom does NOT use this route. A test journey from Birdsgreen to Chelmarsh is routed via Bridgnorth.

Put it down to another silly season DM story?

Unfortunately my V650 Map will get my feet wet. Rolling Eyes

Just have to take my rose-tinted glasses off. Smile

Aha...
So those wonderful journalists COULD have researched the story properly and said " there was a problem, but we understand it has already been rectified in the latest mapping".
But that wouldn't be such a good story though...

My nuvi 660 doesn't use that route.

Unsurprisingly, they didn't publish my comment.
