|
|
Hi
Only just got TT2 with Rikaline GPS, serial. TT2 came wrapped and I installed without a problem. I was connected to the internet and it activated via the TT web site. All worked well or a few hours. Then I tried to put the Speed camera POI on the PDA and it then hung when I tried to use the TT.
Tried a cold reset and re-installed the TT software. It did not ask me for activation codes or ask to go on the internet. Same problem, everytime I tried to use it it just hung the machine up.
Poped it on the laptop and all went well, activated via the web site no problem.
Is there an answer to this. I've run out of PC's. PDA crash and hang just like PC's. What is the anser to re-install TT2
Thanks

What do you qualify as a cold reset? What PDA are you using?
TT2 uses the machine ID as a key in the registration. That's why it shouldn't need the internet for activation any more, but it should still ask you for the three keys. If not then you didn't do a hard reset.. _________________ Lutz

Certainly our speed camera database wouldn't do that, it's just a flat based file. This sounds to me that you may have a corrupted storage card, and TomTom is either reading some of it's files, or POI's and getting stuck and hanging the Pocket PC. |

I have a HP 2210. the reset I did was to press the two outside buttons and the reset on the rear at the same time. Seems to return to factory condition.
When I tried to re install from PC used to do initial install it did not ask for any numbers and simply installed. It did not say the TT2 was already installed.
When I ran TT2 on the PDA it just hung.
I have now installed from laptop and all is well.
If I need to install again in the future any one recomend the best way ? |

The procedure you describe is that for a hard reset - so long as you wait for the screen to fade out.
A reinstall from the PC used initially to install will not ask for the codes - they're stored somewhere on the PC, though I don't know precisely where.
Details of how I reinstalled after a hard reset where I couldn't restore a backup (as I'd upgraded my ROM) can be found in my first post in this thread.

Thanks for the help. I'll keep a note for the next time the PDA crashes. |
