V7 Tom Tom 1 V2

Hi guys is the V7 software available for tt1 V2 and if so how do i get the upgrade. Also does the new V7 include pictures of the cars rather than just a pointer like the new 720 does

Thanks mate but my serial is not the Z version will i still be able to get the 7.xx on my tomtom and how. I have read it comes from tomtom home when you connect but it didnt with mine can you manually download the update somewhere else

It's not available YET.
So Home won't offer it to you YET.
They no longer give the option of manually downloading it, even if it was available; you need to use Home.
If you followed that link I gave you, its says it *will* be available. It even gives you a button to press to be told by email when their message gets updated, but you will probably hear about it on the forums first.

cheers mate hope it works on mine it looks a lot better than the old 6.xx, i have clinked on the link and it says it willl send me a email when the update is ready

Dave,

There is a work around to get 7.12.

Use TTHome V1.5/1.6 & TT connected to PC
Select "Change Device"
Select "the third TT1"in the list = TT1V3
Click "upgrade my tomtom"
Offers firmware 7.12
upgrade.
change everything back when finished.

7.12 has some nice features, but you should be aware that some features are not 100%:-
"Cars" feature doesn't work, Mapshare only allows you to upload your map corrections - you can't download others corrections/see them (also needs maps v675 for newer) - you can see your own corrections though, Help feature does not appear on TT1v2 (well not on mine anyhow).

It'll be great when they roll out the full upgrade.

How did you distinguish the Xl from the following list:-

TT One New edition*
TT One New edition
TT One New edition
TT One New edition

So does that mean you have all the functions then? Cars Icons and send/receive Mapshare?

Sorry forgot to mention. DO NOT DO IT WITH YOUR TT connected. Take the Sd card out and use it in a card reader. I have not got an Sd card reader but I do have a digital camera! Did the job nicely.
