Hello,
Can someone tell me if the 'Jane' voice is enabled for full Text To Speech (TTS)...
When I select 'Jane' as a voice it says that 'I have selected a recorded human voice and I cannot read messages and warnings' etc, etc. It then asks me to select a computer voice which has to be 'Kate' as 'Jane' won't work. If I continue this through, the top 3 boxes are greyed out and I cannot select the read aloud street names options.
If, however, I select the 'Kate' voice for everything then the TomTom sees this as a computer voice and all the boxes can be ticked and my TTS works fine.
Why has 'Jane' not been enabled as a computer voice on my unit. She sits languishing as a normal female voice.
Is this normal?
For info, 'Jane' does not appear as a voice in the LoquendoTTS folder.
Thanks for any replies anyone an give.
Please excuse my ignorance, I am en ex-TT700 owner and this TTS is new to me. |

Welcome to the forum, to use the excellent Text To Speech system you do have to select a computer voice, this means Kate, the Jane voice is not capable of reading out text messages etc - Mike |

Mike,
Thanks for the prompt reply.
It's a shame that, I much preferred the 'Jane' voice - been used to it for too long with my TT700, time to change then...!
Regards. |
