Been having a shop around and can't believe the difference in pricing
eg
Amazon - £259.40
Halfords - £296.00 (with case)
Dixons £329
Tom Tom rrp £329
Glo..posit.co.uk - £274
Handtec - £266.73
John Lewis £329
Tesco direct £329
Argos £329
I know buying online is cheaper but there is around a £70 price difference that seems strange.
Is it just one of these things? |

The pricing is mainly to do with overheads, bulk purchasing & purchasing power.
Perhaps someone else can explain a bit more, I'm off to bed, been up since 03h45 this morning!

I think all the online retailer 720's don't work properly, that was my experience, and i think many others.
Bought from Argos, and almost works perfectly except for mapshare POI's. |

Complete Tosh!
I've bought both my TTG700 & 720 from Amazon and both have worked faultlessly!
Anyway B2T!
What you'll find is that online retailers don't have such high overheads as high st retailers, they also have considerable buying power as well so they're able to squeeze manufacturers for bulk discounts as well.
Yes, High St retailers also squeeze the manufacturers, but they have to pay rental & high staff costs and consequentially that has to be passed down to the public. |
