Can an ipaq be charged with cig lighter?

I bought an ipaq 2210 form america and of course it comes with an american plug. I have bought a convertor online but in the meantime can I charge the Ipaq with the dual cable I got with my GPS reciever?
I tried a short time ago but there was no visible sign it was charging.

it depends on the output voltage of your gps charger.

if your backup battery is flat it won't show when you first charge "light flashing" just leave it on charge and it will be ok.

Cheers, got it charging now.
Couldn't understand why the charge light wouldn't come on.
