I'm trying to register my 520 but cannot find the product code. It is not in any of the places suggested by FAQs. Neither is it shown on Home in system information, in fact it shows as "Device not connected" when it is connected and switched on. Any clues? _________________ Bazzza

Stop looking for it as there isn't one, with the vs7 maps everything is handled by TomTom Home - Mike |

How do i do this, i have looked in the explore maps section of home and their is no map/product code there!
i am stuck, any ideas?

Dave, TomTom have made this difficult (due to them now using your Home login as the security for the maps).
You DON'T need a product code any more.
There are two ways to change your registered DEVICE code:
1) Contact TT customer services, and explain at length WHY you need to do this (They won't understand at first!)
They will then ask you to FAX them a copy of your till receipt or other proof of purchase. Do this and repeat at intervals until they either turn the fax machine on, get it mended or simply FIND what you sent them.
Wait a week or so, throw in another couple of calls for good measure, and eventually it should happen.
2) Give up and start again with a new email address (In fact they will suggest this to you after first saying it is easy to change your device code, and then eventually discovering the system won't let them do it either!).
If you have already registered for Plus services though, expect a similar battle as above to get those transferred to the new account.
Good luck, it CAN be done! |

I still think this dumb software would be far better if it were capable of multiple device support I don't want five or six e-mail addresses. Whilst I admit that number of devices is strange there are plenty of people with two or more devices in the same house. I do not agree with tagging the unit to an e-mail address in the way it is currently performed - Mike |

I tried the TT approach for 720 #2, got fed up waiting for even first response and went with another e-mail address. For 720 #3 I haven't even bothered trying with TT, just used another e-mail address. This is really very inconvenient for me, with several e-mail addresses, none of which I want, just one, and passwords for each of them, none of which I want also. Having gone through more than a dozen GOs over the last two years, this is not what I want. So what's my answer? Write them all down and blue-tack them on my computer - Thanks, TT for my new ultra safe security system!!! Thank heavens I have never bought any of their PLUS services, so I've never been lumbered with the transfer problems. Nevertheless, if 720 #3 works faultlessly, I might be tempted to take the Traffic service, if only to let me use my van radio to listen to the music (but not if Mike comes up with a bluetooth solution for the external speaker).
Hey ho, it's off to try the new 720's hands free. But would you all please take note to let me know when it's safe to install Home 2. _________________ Dennis

I don't know about 5 or 6 email addresses. I didn't want 2, (which my ISP limits me to) but I had to create a new email address so that I could service both my units on the old Home. I'm not going near Home version 2 until it is up and running properly.[/quote] _________________ Bazzza
