|
|
I bought an HTC P3600 from EasyDevices with a trial version of Navigator 6 and 1 free map download - does anyone know how to register a trial version, as there doesn't seem to be any way of doing this from the software?
Thanks |

I wasn't aware there was a 'trial' version.
Program is free but maps cost money from the start is what I thought... |

There are devices such as the HTC P3300, 3600 and 7500 that can come with TomTom pre-installed to the ROM, you also get the ability to download one city map for free of your choice to trial the software on the device.
Have you downloaded a map and was it supplied with a "Product Code" - Mike |

Yeah, I downloaded a free map, but I haven't a clue where to find a product code on it. There doesn't seem to be any 'About' menus for Tom Tom or the map which may give a product code or similar! |

Tapping the "Version n.n" button will then give you the map and software versions.
Mike, I was surprised that this is not one of the TT FAQS! _________________ Jock

Thanks BGF, but I was looking more for a product code than a version number. By the way - how do you know when you're life's going to expire!? |

If the map isn't activated you will never get to the sat strength meter though, if you fail to activate the map the device will quit back to the desktop before displying any sort of navigation screen. Can you see a map on the device at all when you select the TomTom application.
BGF, We can add to the FAQ section as required, but I thought it best to keep it below 15 entries or people won't read through the list, some of the lessor used ones could allways be moved off the page though, I will have a look at the number of hits each on has received later - Mike |

It should be 18 years, 195 days, 19 hours, 30 minutes, 26 seconds ... 25 ... 24 ... _________________ Jock
