520/720 To buy or not to buy?

I'm currently using a TTG300 with a 2GB sd card and Western Europe maps. As far as I can see the only difference in the 520 and 720 is the maps. If I save money and buy the 520, when I need the WE maps, can I use my SD card from the 300 in the 520, or will it be worth the extra £30 to get a more up to date set of Western Europe maps?
I note also that almost all the posts refer to the 720. Hardly any refer to the 520. Why?

Availability, the 720 can be found in the shops, the 520 cannot. If you need Europe maps you may as well get the latest maps and enjoy the advantage of Map Share and Text To Speech on the vs7 maps, it will be the easier option in the longer term if you venture of the island of the UK - Mike

MapShare is a new function that allows you to make changes to the map where you encounter things that are wrong, such as one way streets, new roundabouts etc. These changes can then be shared automatically between the pool of users that partake in MapShare.
Text To Speech (TTS) is where you will get true spoken road names places etc, if you you put the Europe map from your Go-300 on to a 520 then alot of the extra detail that is needed for the TTS to work correctly will be missing - it just wont sound anything like as good as it should do.
Unless your Go-300 Europe maps are very recent they will be out of date, and for the Mapshare / TTS mentioned above I would spend the extra £30 to get the 720 if I were you - Mike
