I am just in the process of deciding which sat nav to buy and am considering the Garmin nuvi670 as I travel alot to the USA and wanted one for there as well as Europe. But the Garmin website seems to say that the FM transmitter is only applicable in Canada and the States, while other sites indicates that it also works in Europe.
Does anyone know if it works here? And is it a really useful feature?

Thanks

Almost certainly for legal reasons..... Some contries do not allow these kinds of devices, others do.

Assuming you mean UK - yes - they work and yes they are now legal.

They may still be illegal in some countries but the chance of being caught is remote to say the least - a car is very efficient at preventing radio waves entering or leaving it and we are talking about very low radiated power.

The only problem is finding a free frequency in some parts of the country (eg London and other major cities).

As for usefulness - it should give better sound than the in-built speaker - which tends to distort at high volume settings. It does mean that you can't listen to the radio and the navigation at the same time - but you can always play mp3s from your 670.
