Hi all,
Probably a stupid question i suppose, but me being the meticulous person i am, I thought would'nt it be nice to have a poi folder to keep them in, instead of filling up the map folder, guess i'm gonna be shot down in flames for being a noob,

My "Crystal Ball" tells me you have a TomTom device, you cannot put the POI's into folders and ePOI files they MUST be placed into the Active Map Folder - Mike
on another topic is it possible to use a word processor to type in what you want your tomtom to say, i.e. poi's.... rather than one finger poking at the tomtom screen ???

One finger using the screen I am afraid, there is no way to edit the file that contains the actual text used, I did once try working out what and how it stores this for the very same reason you want to, it is just so much easier using the PC Keyboard.
The Text settings are stored at the end of the MapSettings.cfg file but can only be seen if you open this file with Note Pad or a Hex Editor - if you do mess around with this ONLY do so on a copy of the file on the PC, as you might mess up the device otherwise, they are not simply typed into this file either, you can see the text you entered but there are other characters inbetwwen each speech sentence. - Mike
