TT6 - Route Demo: Lost Voice Prompts

I have TT6 on my IPAQ HX2490. All works well, except:-

When running a route demo, I no longer hear the voice prompts unless I tap the bottom of the screen when the next prompt is generated.

I'm sure, when I first tried this, I was hearing the prompts all the time.

Any idea on what I may have done wrong in fiddling around with various settings - I don't want to restore to factory defaults and lose all my Favourites, Itineraries etc?
