What has happened to all the cam points for all of the variable speed cams along the M25 and M42, the new download (30th May) seems to be missing them?. _________________ Plank.

Drove around most the M25 Variable Speed Limit last week in both directions. All present when i used it. Surely someone else would have noticed by now if it was the database? |

Ah you mean plank0 might not realise that only the ones containing LIVE cameras are shown - not every empty box and gantry? |

Ah i see. Perhaps someone should mention the fact that only the live cameras are on the database and not the dummy boxes. Do you want to do it or shall i? |

I was reading elsewhere that the cameras are moved around the variable area, between J10 and J16. Is that definitely the case, or are they fixed, and the database just shows those? |

Ahhhh thanks. I'm amazed that so much of the M25, at least from J14 to J16, has essentially no gantry mounted cameras. What a bluff! |

On the M25 there is one set of cameras in each direction between the M4 and M40. The clockwise/northbound cameras are no longer in the database but the cameras are there on the gantry. If these are empty boxes, who found out about them being empty and how do they know?
Edit: This camera (GATSO:36@variable, Heading:0, Single Direction) shows as deleted on the map on this site. Why? I don't want to get flashed by an "empty" box if I'm concentrating on the road ahead more than the speedo. _________________ Paul

Here's a secret tip - you won't get flashed by an empty box.
Here's another secret tip - you won't get flashed by a box with a camera in it if you concentrate on safely driving on the road ahead within the speed limit, rather than on blasting down the road over the limit - y'know, zooming along in order to get "there" before all the other people who are NOT speeding? And by the way, you'll find the speed limit in great big signs on the overhead gantries - you don't even need to remember what it is - they'll remind you.
Having got all of which off my chest - did you do any searching before resurrecting this thread? The topic really has been very thoroughly aired and you'll get the same answers as have already been posted long ago. _________________ Dennis

So...while what you say is true...why do we have a speed camera database? Don't tell me that you have not accidentally crept over the limit.
As for the speed limits on the M25, most of the time these are speeds I aspire to while crawling along in second gear. _________________ Paul

Camera database I use as a reminder, not as a safeguard against getting caught.
Of course I've accidentally crept over the limit - almost goosed the man with the flag.
Usually, I plod along quite gently, although you may wish to criticise me for using Fastest Route. _________________ Dennis

This is what I'd like to do to middle lane hogs. _________________ Paul
