|
|
Hi have a sony ericsson w950 with UIQ 3. Tomtom 6 works fine but the writing on addresses and directions carries on off the screen, which makes finding direction via motorway junctions etc impossible as for example i get a long list saying m25, but the corresponding junction is off the screen, so have no idea which to choose
Likewise when i have a route planned, and go to the written directions most of those directions are off screen, so again useless for planning.
Is there any way of rotating the screen to make it more readable?
So far Tomtom has not lived up to the hype. I prefer wayfinder despite the data costs!
Any help would be greatfully recieved |

Sounds as though Navigator is not fitting your screen.
Is it a supported phone?
I have no problem reading menus etc in portrait mode (which I prefer) on my PDA.
There is no screen rotate within TT Nav6. |

yeah, it's a supported phone. The maps are fine, it's just the writing that disappears off the screen when looking for addresses or the written directions
I feel like i've been ripped off, as I can't get full use out of the software.
do other phones have this problem? |

I never heard this complaint before but then I'd never looked at the written list of instructions till you mentioned them.
So even if there was a problem most people wouldn't notice because they just use the 3D map mode.
Could be the font size is too big in your version. |

I don't know that model of phone. Does it have a touch screen?
On the PDA, if you have a list of addresses to choose from, tap & hold turns the item into smaller font, so you get more detail. This also happens on Route Instructions. I don't know, if you don't have a touch screen, if this facility has a keyboard equivalent. _________________ Jock

thats brilliant, thank you. yes it has a touch sensitive screen, and by pressing and holding it shrinks the text. I can read the text now!

| When looking through the list, and you don't want to choose the highlighted item, drag your finger over to the right of the screen (unless you're operating in left handed mode)). That should leave you on the list, so that you can scroll through other items. _________________ Jock
