|
|
Hi everyone.
I've just ourchased a tomtom ONE Europe satnav after selling my Garmin nuvi 300 a few months ago. I went to download the speed camera database for the ONE but it isn't listed. Which one do I choose?
The tomtom is the version 2 of the ONE by the way. |

Use the TomTom ov2 download, then select the type of download you require:
Single file, as it says, all cameras in a single file
Consolidated by type, where the cameras are identified by type, Gatso, Redlight, Specs, Mobile and Temp
Speed Zoned, where the cameras are broken down by type and speed rating.
With the TomTom products it is best to combing this download with the ogg files for true spoken alerts - much better when the device says "Warning Gatso ahead speed limit is 30 miles per hour" rather than a simple bell or beep - Mike |

Hi and Welcome.
All TomToms use the same method.
Actually the One Series IS listed in the green and red table on the Cameras download page. Follow the links on that chart for full instructions.
There are two loading options ".ov2" and "Home". I'd suggest you use ".ov2" if you are confident with normal PC operations like copy and paste.
There are three main versions of the database. All contain exactly the same data but either presented all in one file, or split up into camera types (MUCH more useful- you'll know when an alert is for a possible mobile site rather than a fixed camera) or split up into the speed limits too (the most useful, but most number of files to install).
All of this is explained far better in the various beginners' guides and FAQs here:- CLICK ME |

Thanks for you input guys. One more question though. I'm going over to France on Tuesday for a week. Is it worth downoading the 'EU' version of the speed camera database. Has anyone used it in France? |

Of course it's worth having. It's not as complete as the UK one but if you spot a camera not recorded and report it you could qualify for a lifetime subscription _________________ Darren Griffin |

No. The UK is not included in the EUR Download so you require both. _________________ Richard
