Just bought a NUVI 200 after the death of my beloved i3 street pilot. Got it from Halfords on offer at £169.99
What concerns me is in the box there was no software etc unlike the i3 no connection cable other than powerlead.
Is this right ?
how and where do i update this thing (if it needs updating at all ?)

any advice please ?
many thanks
Dale

The 200 series are pared right down and have no software or leads. You need to buy a USB lead to update the software or the maps.

Why not use your I3 connector cable, it does work on the Nuvi 200 Wink

My mother got a Nuvi 200 from Halfords on the same offer, seems a good bit of kit for the money, not really tested it out much myself so I cant really comment on the sound output compared to my I3

The Nuvi 200 is in a different league at seeing satellites then the I3, when she first got it I put it on charge in her car leaving it switched on, when I went back out to it had a full signal, not bad when it was inside a Mondeo with a quickclear windscreen that was parked inside a locked garage

I note that this thread is about the Nuvi 200 but as the 250 is very similar the following information may be helpful.

After much research I purchased a Nuvi 250 from Comet at Guildford where I received excellent service, having reserved over the Internet and collected from the Store. This gave me peace of mind as I could open and inspect the unit before paying for it.

By ordering over the Internet I got the 250 for £169.99. On returning from my touring holiday in Europe I checked the Comet site again and was amazed to see the same unit on offer, on that day, for about £154.99. The price on the site at the moment is £167.00 (and the 270 is on offer for £219.00).

I am a little hard of hearing but had no difficulty hearing the audible instructions in my car - a convertible , even when the top was down.

In my opinion the Nuvi 250 is an excellent unit. The only criticism I would make is that the instructions supplied are very brief and it took some time to work out how to make the most of its many capabilities.
