Hi im thinking of selling my TT710 and replacing it with the smaller slim TTXL, my question is will the XL take a 4gig card as I have this size card in my 710 with western europe, usa and canada maps installed.

Yes, if you've found a 4GB card that works in your 710, the same card should work no problem in a OneXL.
As you probably know, most 4GB cards DON'T work because they use a different technology (SDHC) to normal cards. If you find a non-SDHC card, it should work OK. |

TBH there isnt really anything that you can remove to free up space other than excess voices which isnt worth it as they dont take up much space anyway.
Buy a 2 or 4gig card and copy the whole contents of the original card onto the new one make sure you make a backup of your original first using tomtom home!!
Also make sure you enable hidden files to be veiwed in control panel under folder options.

I disagree!
DON'T use TomTom Home to make the backup, use Windows Explorer as described in the TomTom FAQ "sticky" topic in the TomTom forum index.
(Having hidden files visible *is* a good idea though, but only for that Windows backup, it'll make no difference at all to the success or otherwise of a "Home"- produced one!
BTW- Ninja21 did you know your animated avatar is taking so long to load (about a minute or more) that I couldn't get into this topic for ages, thought the forum was broken.... |
