|
|
I'm trying to enable a bluetooth headset to play spoken directions to me while I'm on a bike. The option is available under Speaker options, play via Bluetooth Hi-Fi.
The 510 will detect my headset but then won't connect.
Has anyone managed to get this feature to work successfully? If so what hardware are you using for the bluetooth headset?
I can get spoken directions via a normal set of earphones connected to the dock, but as the unit is in a backpack I want to get rid of the dock.
Please help!! |

As far as I am aware, it is not possible to connect a bluetooth headset to your Tom Tom. The "Bluetooth Hi-Fi device" relates to a bluetooth enabled car radio, so you can get your instructions over the vehicle speakers.
Can you not just connect your 510 to the dock, stick it in your rucksack and use your cabled earphones ? I take it when you say bike, you mean motorbike ? If so it would be more comfortable with small earphones rather than a bluetooth headset.
If it is a pushbike you refer to, then you would look better with earphones on. With a bluetooth headset, you will look like the prat I keep seeing walking round my local Tesco with his bluetooth headset on (trying to look important and failing miserably). _________________ Tommo...

Yep I did mean motorbike :D
Only prob with having the earphones connected to the dock and then put in my rucksack is that if i go over a traffic hump or pothole the dock unclips and leaves me with no directions..
Also I can't fit the gps in its protective case with the dock attached!
Oh well.. maybe I need to bite the bullet and shell out for a rider! |

Or buy an elastic band to keep your dock and Tom Tom firmly together. A bit cheaper than a new device !! _________________ Tommo...
