My work means that I travel alot between Cumbria & Northumbria. Both these areas are removing fixed cameras and now have a fleet of safety cameras. I have tried to add these mobile sites to the database. However when I press the designated button on my pocket pc I get the screen asking what type of camera and then the speed but the location doesn't seem to be stored. Any ideas anyone?
Also once I have the info on these sites how do I send them to pocketpc database? I have read that I should email the ov2 file, but how do I find the relevant file? |

Hi No10,
New to this game myself but I will try to help.
When you save the location it is save to the default checkPOInt.ov2 that should be in the same place as your maps (Mem card ??? )
The CheckPOInt file does not have a bmp associated with it but you can add one. I just made a copy of the camera one and called it checkPOInt.bmp then copied it in with the rest of the files. This is probably why you think it hasn't been recorded.
If you then go into the checkPOInt options there is "Recorded POIs". From here you can move them into the relevant POI group, locate them on the Map and show you the long/lat figures.
Hope this helps...

Cheers Slimboy I'll give that a try. I think you're on the right lines because last night I got a warning even though no camera was shown on the map

The advice is good - though it's worth checking that you've got CheckPOInt 2.0.2 installed rather than version 3 if you're trying to capture POIs for the PocketGPS database.
With version 3, you either can't make a CheckPOInt.ov2 file at all (if you're synchronising with POIplace) or you can, but there's no details of the captured POIs in it (if you're not synchronising with POIplace).
2.0.2 can be found in the Downloads section of this site.
