I-go 8 - post codes & traffic

I have notice on I-go's website that version 8 will start shipping in september. one major downside of igo at the moment for me is the lack of full postcodes in the uk. does anyone know if the new version will correct this, also any plans for traffic via gprs?

as for traffic i dont think it will be over gprs

my map is 82.2mb, but only has 4 digit postcodes! not the complete uk ones am I doing something wrong?

i have a feeling you have been issued the wrong map i think it hould be about 10mb bigger from memory it should be around 92mb

There are 2 versions of the UK map, one with postcodes and one without... I eventually found out that my map did have full postcodes but note they divide the post code into two parts... as you type the post code the smart keyboard shows you only the next possible options so when you type for example sw19 you seem not to be able to type anything further... then if you tap the SPACE bar you can continue and input the full postcode...

I have had a reply back from I-go support. They have confirmed that they do supply two versions of the uk map. one with full postcodes the other with only part.

I have now received a copy of the UK version, and this does have the full post codes included. In addition after trying the software for a week whilst working as a HGV driver I can confirm that the post code support is one of the best available.

I don't know how the distribution works but I have found that the usual UK map is 87,539k with only 4-digit postcodes. I found a more recent one [070227] which is 96,276k & has the full 7-digit codes & I agree they are very accurate!

There is even a more recent 7 digit postcode version than the one you mention. 2007.7+ [070726] 100+ meg in size.
