Hi all! Does anyone know how to view/acces triplog .dat files? I accidentally deleted some info from the tomtom, and I restored the files, but I'm not sure how to view them. Should and how can I do it through explore or tomtom home? Or is there some program that I can view them through?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! |

I don't have any files of that name on any of the backups I can look at here at work.
Do you have any extras like Tripmaster installed that could be generating these files?
You could TRY looking at them with Notepad, but they probably aren't simple text files.
Without knowing where they came from, I'm stumped.
EDIT - Isn't it amazing how you always have another thought JUST as you hit the "Submit" button.
Could it be that you agreed to TomTom's request for some form of remote logging of useage? I seem to remember it was an option when I updated the software once.
If that is the case, I reckon they could be dumped, I'd never let them do it in the first place, Big Brother and all that! |

Hi,
yes, I do have tripmaster installed. It seems like that would be the logical place that they would come from - but I set the files to save as itn... although I could have done it wrong.
Assuming that they're from tripmaster is there any way that I could open them - for example thru tthome or explore? Or since they're recuperated files is there no way to display or open them?
notepad just displays jibberish as usual.
Thanks!!! |

I doubt "Home" would touch them as it wouldn't know what on earth they are if they don't come from TomTom. Did you try Notepad?
If they are tripmaser-generated, why not ask the author "roussillat" himself?
