Hi,

This is my first post having just got a mio p550.

I have problem with the wifi,as the only icon i get in the wireless manager is the bluetooth connection.Mio help desk via email have said to do a hard reset and if it is the same then it needs repairing.
I am not to keen on this so i contacted the supplier superetrader about the problem and they tell me i need buy a network card.
I have emailed them with the product spec and it says built in wifi.

Am i correct in thinking that it should be wifi enabled straight out of the box.

Thanks for your help in advance Question

If its a P550 you have then it must be faulty these devices are equipped with WiFi as standard, only the P350 didn't get the WiFi.
If its a P550 you ordered return it to the vendor as defective - you most certainly do not need an extra card to gain WiFi with that PDA. - Mike

I do not think it is enabled out of the box.
There should be a way to turn it on.

If you have not sent it back yet find out where you can turn it on.
It may not be a faulty unit after all.

I had played with it before but I do not have it on hand so cannot tell you the way to do it.

Oh, you already said that.

Did you try the hard reset by sliding the switch at the bottom of the unit or by

Start - Settings - System - SysInfo - Clean Boot?

And are the settings correct in
Start - Settings - System - GPS
Programs - GPS program port COM4
Hardware - GPS hardware port COM2 Baud 4800
Access - Manage GPS Automatically (ticked).
