|
|
Hi,
can anyone tell me why the OV 2 single UK file in the speed camera database for a TomTom go, has 2 files. as well as the single file for all UK cameras, there is a file for UK mobile cameras as well. Should this file be ignored or do we have to download both?
I'm slightly confused, help please.

The second file is the pMobile File and is a file of Unverified Mobile locations.
A Search for 'pmobile' will find several Topics on the subject.
It's supplied for those who want the warnings, even if some of them may be false.
If you don't want it, just ignore it. ;) _________________ Richard

Thanks,
that explains it, I'll look up the pmobile topics and decide if I want more warnings or not.

An explanation is also posted right under the download selector on the download page. |

Not yesterday it wasn't, in fact downloads were not available at all yesterday as the site would not let me download the database at all, or even get to the download page.
Would it not be easier to include a small file with the download, then when people like myself, who are not on the site every day, but use it occasionally, open up the file, we will be able to see the explanation instead of asking.
A single file for UK cameras states that one file covers all UK cameras, perhaps the pmobile one should be left out altogether. |

Whilst the download wasn't avalible for some time yesterday the message has been there before. See http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=322567&highlight=#322567 where I posted a reply at 7.29 am on Friday pointing out the information is on the website already.

It was for a while but it seemed that nobody bothered reading it so the information was moved to the website as numerous threads where started all asking "What is the pMobile file for?".

The reasons for the seperate pMobile file have been covered in numerous threads. It's up to you if you want to use it or not. It's an optional file. |

Thats all very well, but if the pmobile file is optional, why not call it pmobileoptional. Is that to simple? |

The 'p' stands for Pending, as in 'pending verification of Mobiles'.
It is optional in that some wanted it, others didn't. The option is yours. ;) _________________ Richard
