In the TomTom folder on your pc (by default in My Documents) look in HOME, Downloads, ephemeris, and there should be a folder 'QuickGPSfix' for each time you've downloaded it.

I don't know of any way to check on the device itself.

When connected to the Computer, and using Explorer, there is a Folder, ephem, that holds the files. Just check the date.

Thanks, Richard. I hadn't noticed that!

TT Home should offer you a new QuickGPSfix download regularly. I'm not sure how often, but perhaps weekly?

I get it almost every time when I connect and it's daily. Ok, I live here in the north (no polar bears on the streets), the satellites are far from us.

Thanks, Hartsa. I didn't realise it was that often, but at my age it's hard to remember what day of the week it is, let alone when you last had a fix. Shocked

Your signature indicates that you have a GO500. According to the tomtom website the 500 doesn't support gpsquickfix.

I've just connected to Home and been offered the QuickGPSfix download, and realise where I got the idea it was weekly.

If you click on 'More info' it says "QuickGPSfix data contains information about where the GPS satellites are going to be for the next 7 days. To get the fastest possible GPS fix, make sure you update the QuickGPSfix data as often as possible and at least once a week."

I knew I'd seen weekly mentioned somewhere! Rolling Eyes

Does this mean we can delete old QuickGPSfix files, and just keep the latest one?

I would have thought so, Tanda, but as none of my downloads is over 64KB I'm not going to be the first to try it!

You can delete the old ones. I just left the last one there. Smile

I have also had 3 QuickFix updates in one day.

They must be continually updating them and the date/time stamping knows what is old, and what is current.
