can you track a gps??????

i have a bluetooth gps receiver for my pda is it possible to get software to track where it is, without having to have it paired with the pda?

Even when paired to the PDA it will only show your current position - it cannot track unless it is a logging GPS unit. On its own the GPS will know exactly where it is, there are very few devices that can display present position on the GPS unit itself see This Post for a GPS with dsplay and logging capability.
The term "track" is usually referring to remote monitoring of the GPS position either via another remote device or PC, to do this you would need a GPRS connection via a mobile phone which can become costly depending upon your mobile phone tariff - Mike

There are 'Trackers' available but these also have a GSM Phone Interface to transmit the location data back to a central server or requesting party.

If you have a GSM Phone, you can subscribe to similar services which will allow the position of your phone to be tracked albeit with much less accuracy.
