What do you think of the Map Share feature? I think this is the one thing that will make the 720 stand out. I hope Tim comes back with some details on it. |

Two things to note from their press release.
"This feature gives TomTom users the option to capture these changes on their device in-between map releases" which means you'll still need to buy new maps as/when released.
"When it comes to sharing improvements, users can choose between downloading all reported map improvements or only accepting map improvements verified by a TomTom team of experts to guarantee timeliness and validity" which probably means only on new map versions.
Basically I think this is just a dynamic version of "report mapping errors" and I for one would be sceptical about downloading unverified data from other users. There are some real idiots out there who could report things just for the hell of it (or very temporary diversions etc).
Just 'my umble opinion! |

Report now on YourNav.
Looks very tempting and might make me upgrade from my 500. |

The map update feature needs to be explored, in theory it's a good idea but I think changes need to be verified otherwise they could be useless...
At least TomTom are talking about more frequent map updates, I assume TeleAtals would verify so it might be quite quick. |

I know they are saying Q3 2007, but which month will it realistically be released? |
