Hi,
Any way of getting TT6 to use Text to Speach ?
My mate has a Garmin unit which does this and it's quite impressive to have street names etc read out aloud as your travelling. I found this was comforting as you would look for street names (on the road) as you would normally and then hear the voice giving a confirmation, found this to be quite natural and much better than "turn right"/ "turn left" etc on TT6. |

TT6 does support Text To Speach, in fact it is very good. You need the correct hardware though for it to work, only the Go-910 will work using the TTS capability - Mike |

Forget it, the phone has nowhere near the amount of horsepower needed to do something like that, think yourself lucky it will navigate, just a shame the onboard GPS cannot be used as yet - the sooner Nokia patch it the better - Mike |

Not sure what you mean by lack of horsepower - My N95 can run a web browser + full screen video while TT6 is running, surely it would have more than enough capacity for TT6 text to speach ? It already does a text to speach task by anouncing the name of in-comming callers using the built in N95 feature.
Don't hurt my phones feelings by doubting its masculinity ! 8) |

Forget the idea, TTS is only supported on the 910 and no other product so the TomTom application on your N95 will not perform Text To Speach - Mike |
