hi y'all
i'm the nearly proud owner of an o2 xda orbit (htc artemis 200).
thing is i can't get anquet v6/gpstweak/sirfdemoppc to connect to the internal gps receiver. Any thoughts? |

Welcome to the forum, there was a similar question I answered earlier, please have a read of This Thread - I appreciate it is for Memory Map, but the settings should still be the same (the C-III is the same device you have as far as the GPS is concerned). - Mike |

anquet lets you scan all the com ports, but fails to connect to a single one.
sirfdemoppc shows a restricted list of available ports and lets you attempt to connect at different baud rates but all fail.
interestingly COM2: is what the xda applet shows as the setting but
sirfdemoppc labels 'COM3: GPS Port' - this port fails with a different error 'failed to open specified port'
any thoughts? |

Have you got another program using the GPS? Stop all running programs (settings/memory/...)
Another thing - is it using a GPS 'port sharing' application? These usually attach to the physical COM port and present another COM port for applications to connect with. If so - stop this and see if things improve. _________________ Phil |

only thing running seems to be ActiveSync.
am a bit baffled as to disabling a port splitter. how would i know if one was running? |
