|

Hi all
First post here, hope you can advise.
I have HTC / T-mobile Compact III PDA with Co-Pilot 6.
I must say I am finding this an extremely unfriendly piece of software. Aside from the fact that it will occasionally guide me round and round in circles when I clearly see the direction it should be taking me, I have some specific issues.
I need to be able to convert .gpx files to something that CoPilot can use. CoPilot seems to only be able to recognise .trp files. Please, please do not refer me to Landserf as this is a piece of software that is completely beyond my needs. Also, GPSbabel does not convert .gpx to .trp.
Can anyone give me a relatively simple method for doing this? I wish to use trips that are available on bikely.com (exportable as gpx files) on Co-Pilot, simple as that.
Advice deeply appreciated as I am getting really frustrated with this.

have you tried using poi edit
have read though the copilot manual and as the same time try doing what the manual is telling you to do
as for sending round in circles have had it do that yet _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. Good bye IOS don't let the door hit you on the way out .

i think for what you are trying to do some like topographic maps such as memory map or fugawi may be a beeter option for you copilot is designed for onroad veihcle navigation have you tried downloading the google waypoin and converting them to excel and then importing them _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. Hi
That's exactly what I am trying to do, without success so far. In the custom places import wizard, I get as far as the stage where I select which columns are displayed.
My excel file has only 3 columns:
1. Lat
2. Long
3. Point name
I've tried various options but cannot get to the point where it lets me hit "next".
Help appreciated!

OK. Partial success; I'm getting there: all the waypoints are now on the map as POI's.
So how do I make them all into a trip? I can see them all displayed (in what seems to be a fairly random order) in the Manage Custom Places window. Obviously I can select each one in turn and make it a waypoint; but there are hundreds of them!
It does not seem to be possible to go "Edit; select all; make waypoint".

thats a limitation if the software im afraid you can make up an itinery and then optimze the waypoints
as before i think somthing like memory map would do this better _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. Good bye IOS don't let the door hit you on the way out .

That's an extremely significant limitation.
I;'m a bit puzzled as to why, even though I can see my POI's in POI manager, listed under my the correct category, when I go to "new trip" and then POI's, they are not displayed in there. I can only get at them via POI manager rather than the trip editor.
Unbelievable that you cannot get it to join up points that you have put on the map and are all within one category. |
