I am off to NZ in the next few days, will be hiring a car, and fancy using my ipaq/gps over there. Tomtom don't seem to have got as far as NZ maps :D Anyone out there have a favourite piece of SW or maps for that part of the world? Mostly South island and I wont need massively detailed maps?
Thanks all
Mark

The only ones I know of are Tumonz, http://www.tumonz.co.nz/ but this is a PC app and OziExplorer which has some NZ maps here.
Strangely, even Navman who are a New Zealand company don't have maps of NZ, only Aus _________________ Darren Griffin |

Mark,
As I have a Garmin eTrex Legend I have purchased the Garmin MapSource World map. The map detail for NZ looks OK for driving around, but it does not support routing.
I intend to set up some trips on the PC and download them to the Garmin, which will then give a visual indication of the direction to travel. It does seem strange that Navman don't have NZ maps.

I have just found www.livingstoneguides.com which has maps for New Zealand and software for PDAs. Documentation is available on the website. The software recognised my Emtac Bluetooth GPS using the default settings :D so I will be trying it out next month I hope.
