like in the title i have had my holux slim236 bluetooth reciever for no longer than a few months.. all was working dandy..

and best buy i had ,, but for some asstranged reason.. i decided to goto leeds and thought id be a smart as and try the gps out on my xda mini S.

and to my suprise the pda was not picking up a signal and for the whole journey i was feeling more curious about the whole thing..

then suddenly i realised that the light in the middle of the 236 was not flashing blue = the bluetooth signal..

ive tried reset my pda and thats all..

so any suggestions on how to save my peachy bum and not throw it away.. cos i would be gutted if not livid..

cheers

Welcome to the forum, You can try removing the battery out of the 236 for a couple of days before re-installing it, this might cure the fault although it is fair to say a number of these devices were sold via e-bay that quickly developed a dead Bluetooth communication.
Where did you purchase it from and is it still under waranty? - Mike

The Bluetooth LED should illuminate when you first switch it on, If it doesn't then it is most probably faulty. does the orange LED illuminate then flash when a position fix is atttained if so you could still use the unit with a suitable cable (Sony PSP type work well) when connected to a laptop.
The Orbit is a great choice, I had a chap yesterday who had one but the GPS had been sent back as it was faulty, when I enquired further O2 had supplied a BT GPS with the Orbit as in their opion it was needed (it isn't) so I set it up correctly and its working well, he will be getting a free BT GPS due to the shops stupidity or lack of knowledge - every credit.
If you don't need WiFi consider switching to T Mobile and look at the MDA Compct III which is the same device less the WiFi and cheaper, or if you want a big screen the Ameo is great, even though its a brick in terms of size. The Orbit is based on the HTC Artemis, have a look in the Windows Mobile PPC forum section for a thread I started a while back that details the device and a number of accessories - Mike
