Hi, I take it you have UK and Irland maps,(Reganal), In which case, no, the original card isn't big enough. According to TomTom, you will need a 1GB card, and get a fast read card.
http://www.tomtom.com/support/index.php?Language=1&query=sd+card+size&FID=6583
Also, DON'T put anything on the original card. This is your ONLY copy of the maps/softwear you have. Copy the original card with windows explorer onto a file on your computer, then copy it from the computer onto another SD card, and put the original away in a safe place. I even burned a copy onto a CD. Have a look here, how to do it.

And don't forget to go to Tools - Folder Options - View and make sure you tick Show hidden files and folders. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

If as you first asked
Quote: | If I got the DVD with the maps of western europe on |
which I took to mean you would purchase it, then everything would be OK.
However, you then say
Quote: | Could I then just
1) borrow my friends tomtom europe SD card
2) use my card reader to copy the files to my computer
3) Copy files my SD card like in the above link
4) Put in tomtom? |
Then it wouldn't work because of the reasons given by crazylegs. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property
