|
|
I've been playing with POI's on my TomTom after downloading and editing some files, and I've noticed something strange.
I have downloaded a file for National Trust properties and one for Aviation Museums, amongst others. When I look at the NT properties on my TT, it lists each property by name, so far so good.
When I look at the aviation museums, they are all listed as Aviation Museum (unnamed), even though ther are named in the OV2 file.
Can anyone explain why that should be and how I correct the problem? |

If you can tell us where you got the poi files from then we can try and replicate your problem. _________________ RQ

Richard
I used dumpov2.exe, (from TomTom),to dump the file from OV2 format to text, then used makeov2.exe to generate the new OV2 file after editing.
I've modified a couple of files using the same method, the aviation museum one is the only one I'm having trouble with

If you use poiedit (free) the you don't have to convert to text and save with another programme.
It just opens the file up in its current format, you can then edit the data as you wish (or add, delete etc) and then save the file. It seems simpler than the TT programme.
Try again with poiedit and see if that helps. _________________ RQ

Sorry for the delay in answering, rather a busy weekend.
I checked the file with POIEDIT as suggested, and there were no names in the file, strange, the other files I edited were all OK.
I've now resolved the rpoblem, and changed the location.
I've also made some changes via this web site, local knowledge is a wonderful thing.
Thanks for all your help
Regards
