Hi,
I'd love a POI file containing locations of Les Routiers establishments.
I've just had a look on the LR site and found a list of members (doesn't look complete though) and it gives the locations in Post Codes. Does anyone have a Post Code to Long/Lat converter? I could probably copy / paste the post codes into a text file... if anyone has the capability to do the conversion it may be worth the pain! |

It can be done quite easily. Unfortunately the Postcode locations are not as accurate as some would like them. Also the lists that Web based data provides, are not always correct.
Which particular group of locations are you interested in?
Is it just the 31 pages listed at http://www.routiers.co.uk/members.aspx?by=0&all=t ? _________________ Richard

I generally look out for Les Routiers member places and often think it would be good to have a POI file. The 31 pages you mentioned is what I found too - nowhere near complete but 300 ish locations would be better than nothing.
I doubt if the routiers site would give me a database export but if they would, I could create the file and share it on here.
Cheers

The usual Postcode tool is AutoRoute. Mainly because you can tweak the location if it's obviously not quite right. It can then be converted into a POI with something like POIConverter from the AR File.
At a guess I would say it could take me 2 weeks to do. ;)
When I've finished what I'm doing. _________________ Richard
