Using TT6 on Dell Axim and asked TT for install files for for E65. They sent me zip (ttn.symbian_6.020.zip) containing 'install.bif' and 3 directories 'sys', 'private' & 'resource'. Copied to newly formatted card and inserted into E65. On power on, installation auto started only to be followed by message saying unable to finish, complete installation under App Manager on phone. Tried this but after attempting to install, receive error message 'unable to install'. TT6 I have on Dell was a download upgrade from TT5 so install files are for PPC and useless for Symbian although I understand latest Euro maps will be OK if I can ever get it to install! |

I have TomTom6 working on the Nokia E65 with no problems at all.
I just followed the instructions athttp://www.tomtom.com/support/index.php?FID=6893&Lid=1
I just put my MicroSD card into a reader connected to my Mac, opened up TomTomHome and then pressed the download button on the webpage. This downloaded the install files and then proceeded to install them to the SD card.
After manually copying across my maps I then put the SD card in the phone and then it installed OK. A quick registration later and all working perfectly.

Unfortunately, I can’t use that option as TomTom Home does not yet recognise E65 and in any event, there is nothing to download as they sent me a separate link to download the zip file. Tried numerous times with card formatted on both PC & in phone but results are still the same.

Not sure why you need TomTom Home to recognise the E65.
Just have the Micro SD card connected to your PC. Then run TomTom Home. It will see the Micro SD card and prompt you what to recognise it as. Pick the S60 option or similar ( can't quite remember the exact message now) and then click on the download button the webpage i sent. This then initiates the download of the correct files in TomTom Home. I also had to register the device on a different email address as I already have a TomTom One as well.
Good Luck.

Tim,
Many thanks, now sorted. A slightly convoluted procedure and as you say, had to register a new account as TT Home will unfortunately only recognise one device. Now activated and up and running.
