I have just got a Qstarz device (from ebay) and paired it with my Nokia N73, running TomTom 6. No problem setting up, the Qstarz quickly gets a fix and TomTom finds the location easily. The BT pairing is shown by a flash of the blue LED every second. But every couple of minutes, TomTom says "No GPS Device!". The Blue light continues to flash, and then after about 30seconds to 1 minute TomTom sees the device again.

Both devices are fully charged, and indeed the problem persists if they are plugged in.

Other posts have indicated that this might be caused by the Nokia not supporting the sleep mode on the GPS device. However the GPS device doesn't seem to go to sleep (in fact the device doesn't seem to notice that the Bluetooth connection is gone -- only TomTom complains).

Do I have a dodgy GPS receiver? Or a dodgy phone?

Any help would be much appreciated.

regards,
Duncan

OK, I explained the problem to the ebay seller I bought it from (hsuuk) and he immediately offered to send another model for me to test. He sent a Qstarz BT Q818. It works perfectly! Hasn't dropped the BT connection once. I'm sending back the original Q810. BTW there was no charge for this service that went far beyond the call of duty, so I'd highly recommend hsuuk to others considering this purchase.

Cheers
