Every month I download the latest zip file for the full 24 file database onto my desktop and then install it into my TT. For the first time, I also tried to download the EUR file, as we will be travelling to France. (It has the same name as the 24 file zip. Bit of a pain, but it's just a matter of renaming one, before downloading the second.)
Does this EUR file duplicate the UK cameras? If so is there any way of combining them so that I get the fully speed zoned ones in UK, without the EUR duplication.
Alternatively, is there a better database for France and Spain from elsewhere? |

Tom, if you want to combine the files you can use POIEdit which allows you to append a POI file to another one. I would think about what you are doing though, you will end up with a mixture of MPH and KPH rated cmaeras in each file which will cause fun when using it this way - Mike |

Before I do that, is the EUR file mainland Europe, excluding UK, or does it duplicate UK cameras. |

Just Europe based cameras, you will not find any UK ones in the Europe download - As I said before think about what you are doing in terms of how the device is to warn you of the speed limit approaching a camera, having two differing sets of speed info in the same file - Mike |

No probs. If they're different, I presume I can load them both as separate files without merging, and activate them. Then when I go to France, change the units of measure to Km on the Chunnel, and back again to miles when am on my way back through. I'm quite happy operating in KPH on the Continent. My car drives soooooooooooo much faster in KPH.

How come POIEDIT can download all of the pocketgps speed camera info without having to provide a login, yet things like M6 toll road exits fail (I assume a subscription is reqd for those) ? |

Not quite sure what you're saying.
AFAIK POIEdit will only download the old, free, camera database and that is more than 1 year old.
What's that got to do with M6 Toll Road Exits? _________________ Richard

To download the POIs from this site doesn't require a Subscription, only the basic Registration. _________________ Richard

Just the normal way of starting POIedit, selecting this site, then chosing the M6toll categories from the list of about 200 POI categories |

I'm still confused.
I know the camera database can't be downloaded with POIEdit. I don't think the POIs can either, as they are created 'on the fly'.
The other point you mention is the "M6 toll category". Is there such a thing?
I don't remember seeing it in the list of POIs. _________________ Richard
