Hi guys, OH just talked me into buying a garmin nuvi 310 and I cannot download the POI`s from this website. Every time I try a message pops up saying file is corrupted or invalid! I am a bit of a technophobe so will someone PLEASE try and talk me through how to do it blue eyed blonde style?
Thanks |

Use the "show link" checkbox adjacent to the download button - select it before clicking the download button.
Also limit the number of POI categories you download in a single hit.
Which POI files are you trying to download? - Mike |

Thankyou, I hadn`t checked the show link box. How many catagories do you recommend downloading at once? Is it best to do just a few at a time and put those onto the sat nav first rather than attempting all at once? I shall try and do one and see how I get on.
No doubt I shall need your help again, I`m bound to screw up trying to transfer them from the computer onto the sat nav
Many thanks . |

Just bear in mind the (possible) limit on number of categories (257?) that you can load onto the 3xx - although this seems to have been fixed with the latest s/w release (3.9) from GARMIN according to info elsewhere in these forums.
I would love to try it out for myself - but the thought of messing up my wife's new toy is putting me off! And they haven't got around to fixing the 660 yet.
My suggestion would be download to your PC in small chunks and transfer to GARMIN in one go. Also - putting them onto a separate SD card may be worth considering - that way if something does go wrong you can remove the card and hopefully the 310 will burst back into life. _________________ Phil |
