|
|
Hi all,
I have the Western_Europe maps on my SD card, for TomTom 6.5 on a iMATE jam - there are dozens on ov2 files and bmps for safety cams in various countries across western europe.
My problem is that none of them show on the list of POI categories, so could anybody please help me out and advise how I 'add' them in, etc.?
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Andrew |

Welcome to the forum, can you view the storage card using Windows Explorer on the PC and count up how many files end with the extension of ov2 - if the total is over 100 that is your problem, there is a limit as to the number of POI categories you can have in any single map folder. - Mike |

They are TomTom speed cameras? I know for sure that you cannot configure the warnings for the TomTom speed cameras on the Go devices, not 100% sure on the PDA, I do have a PDA running TT6 but I only ever install the Speed Camera Database from PocketGPSWorld:
1/ It is more upto date
2/ It is updated more often
3/ You can configure the warnings
4/ You can set spoken alerts
I will install a set of TT speed cameras to the PDA and see what it does though - Mike |

ok thanks for your efforts.
If I download the pocketgps db, should I just delete all existing ov2 files? Also, if I subscribe for one month, can I use the db for every (I appreciate that it will be updated, but I will not get those unless I continue my subscription)?
Thanks, Andrew |

If you use the database from this site I would suggest you remove the TomTom camera POI files otherwise you will get double warnings when approaching some cameras, notice I say some, the TT offering isn't as comprehensive in terms of accuracy.
You can download the database as many times as you like during your subscribed period, you could possibly get one or even two updates in your months membership depending on timing.
You can always re-subscribe at some future point to update your cameras to the latest version, or use the £19 per year option for a full 12 months membership.
Remember membership also allows you access to the members area, free to enter prize draw, and if you are the first to spot a camera and report it while a member you qualify for a free life time membership - Mike |

The TomTom-supplied camera files you already have, are managed from the TomTom Plus menu, not the normal POI menu (from software V6.510 onwards). |
