The TrafficMaster data is normally transmitted from WinterHill (105,4 Century FM) which provided a good coverage for the NW and Fylde area.
I don't know if it's due to a fault or they have switched off the transmission for some other reason but we have had no signal around here since just after Christmas. The last time I saw my unit working was on the M62 near Leeds - Mike |

I had the same problem - bought the nuvi310d with gtm12 from halfords 2 weeks ago. I live in Newcastle and traffic didn't work at all, nothing whatsoever all the way up to Glasgow and back. Found some info on here about the ciggarette plug adaptor which apparently isn't powerful enough so I got halfords to change it to a new type and it works brilliantly.
The new type charger's model number ends in 6021 - my old one ended in 6017. You may have to fight with halfords to get it changed - eventually I had to demand that they phoned Garmin. Guess what: the chap at garmin started to say that mine was a one-off problem so I told him to look on here and then asked why they changed the charger design if there was nothing wrong. Oh... yes it is something we're aware of, he said. Shame they can't be straight up from the start. |

6025 is the number of the newer charger cable, it produces less noise and does improve the RDS-TMC reception, but only in areas where there is coverage, Preston area is a dead duck at the moment as far as TrafficMaster TMC data is concerned - Mike |

Where can I find the model number of my GTM 21, is it on the sticky label attached to the lead or stamped somewhere on the part? _________________ Garmin Nuvi 660 FM

The RDS-TMC receiver model number is on a black flag adjacent to the mini USB plug one side has the CE mark the other the model number.
The part number for the charger lead is a similar black flag fitted to the lead approx. 20MM after the ferrite near the ciggy plug, it is the last four digits that we use to identify the 6025 or otherwise - Mike |

The last 4 digits under the bar code on the car charger lead is 1677. Is this correct?
Is it the best lead or can I get it changed? _________________ Garmin Nuvi 660 FM

If you are not getting traffic data from a GTM21, there are a number of reasons that could cause it, but the model number of the GTM21 is unlikely to be the cause (as long as it's UK stock, and not an import). _________________ Please don't be offended if I do not reply to a PM - please ask questions via the forums. |

See my earlier post - Garmin have finally come clean - there is currently no transmission in the North West (at any rate, north of Manchester. Trafficmaster are having unspecified problems (presumably with their transmission partners) and there is no timescale for the resolution of the problem in this area (ie that served by Winter Hill)

Dare we assume that there is an intention to fix the problem at some point? _________________ _________________
