hi all
is there any way to avoid a known problem i.e.m6 blocked from j21 to j23 etc whilst driving. ive got the motorway poi but cant use it in the "avoid" part of the menu - id like to be able to enter the junction number that i want to avoid but cant figure out how to do it. |

I'm afraid you're not able to do that.
You either have to use avoid roadblock, and risk re-joining the motorway too soon, or use travel via, which assumes a lot of knowledge about the roads either side of you.
If you use avoid part of route, and you select the motorway, it misses the motorway altogether and goes across country. 8O _________________ Richard

Good idea
I suppose you could suggest this to TomTom but their answer would be to either subscribe to traffic or get a TMC unit |

yes but this is something that can be done via the software - it doesn't need traffic - just the ability to choose what one wants to avoid - i don't know about anyone else but i find the "avoid roadblock" feature pretty useless.

Maybe I was just lucky.
I think the max limit of 3 miles should be extended to 25 miles which would be more realistic with motorway use. _________________ Richard

I suppose the answer is, if you know what junctions they are reporting the delays between, then you have to delay tapping in the roadblock until you're approaching that junction before the one where the roadblock is
When I had smartnav (a prize win), quite often I didn't find the advice given very smart at all |
