Sorry if this has been asked before; did try searching the forum.

I recently bought a used Quest for use on my motorcycle. I'm using RAM mounts and it's been a success. Now I'd like to find a power cable to wire it to the bike. All I find are cradle+cable offerings for $$$.

I'm more interested in the permanent power aspect; know I need 12V-5V stepdown. The more I read the more the sound aspect appeals but it's not a total requirement for a good, simple, inexpensive solution.

Is a Quest bare-wire power cable available alone?

If you have the RAM cradle the the QPAC is what you're looking for.

Thanks Chas. Missed it on their site. Man - we're made to pay up for this stuff in the UK, eh?

Price aside this looks a good solution, especially for those who can leave the RAM mount on the bike 24/7.

For those of us (98%??) who can't, I guess an inline connector is the answer. Bother...

Regards, Bob

I have incorporated a Tamiya connector into the power lead for the Garmin cradle that I mount my Quest in. I can un-plug and then remove the whole mount along with the Quest still in it in a matter of seconds. When parking up at a petrol station for example I can easily just remove the unit whilst I go and pay.

Exactly, Chas. Makes you wonder why such a connector isn't included in the rig - especially for that price.
Good point about petrol stations, for example. We don't all live in Wyoming!
