|
|
I was interested to know, since most electricals are like that, is there a recomended charging time for the Navman F20 before using it the first time?
What about the consequent charges after the first charge?
Thanks.... (to whoever answers the questions) |

Most manufacturers might suggest charging a battery operated device for about 16 hours on its first charge, but it doesn't matter after that so just charge it when you need/can charge it.
A good rule of thumb is to charge the device overnight when you pull it out of the box for the first time, run it almost flat then charge it again over night.
Modern batteries are much more resilliant to abuse, and can take a week or so to reach and efficient charge routeen. _________________ Dom

My Navman F20 is my first sat. nav. with a battery backup ( I was running a Navman iCN610 before that ).
Because I am used to the 610 , when I use my F20 I always have it connected to the power in my vehicle , I never use it on battery alone.
Is doing this going to damage my battery in the short / long term ? _________________ Keith

Very long term mabye! but if you occasionally have to use the batteries for loading poi's or checking a route then that helps. I believe the navmans have a natural discharge build into them so if you don't use it for a while it will go flat to protect the batteries. (with no harm or loss of information). _________________ Dom

Thanks for your quick answer, but i also have another question related to the Navman F20. I have seen that someone is giving instructions out on how to upload the cameras on the Navman, can anyone give me a copy? |
